While I consider Carrie (1976) to be a true classic and likely in my permanent top 10, I was open to the idea of this third remake. The 2002 television movie of Carrie got the casting right with Angela Bettis, it didn’t pack the punch of the original. And the 2013 remake got more wrong than right in the final product.
While I didn’t approach Mike Flanagan’s 2026 version with skepticism, I left myself open to what he had come up with. For the most part, I was pleasantly surprised by the updates and acting, there were a few turns towards the end that left me weary. But overall, I enjoyed the ride.
Of course, I had to track down the locations as soon as I could. While I am not able to visit these spots in person yet, I provided some streetview shots and online pictures for comparison and reference. Like the 2002 version, this was shot in the Vancouver area.
The house was a bit tricky to find as there are no visible street names or house numbers, but I did track it down! It is located at 821 Henley Street in New Westminster, British Columbia.
It was widely publicized that the school scenes were shot at 960 W 33rd Avenue in Vancouver. Most of the shots were on the Willow side of the campus.
Sue Snell’s house is at 206 Queens Avenue in New Westminster.
The town scenes were shot on 176th Street in Cloverdale. (The second shot is one I took while doing locations for It’s A Wonderful Knife.
The Rio Vista Mansion was used in this scene, located at 2170 SW Marine Drive in Vancouver. (This is a shot from iZombie to show the staircase spot for reference.)
Ell Camino’s was used for the bar scenes, located at 3250 Main Street in Vancouver.
The gas station is located at 5393 248th Street in Aldergrove.
The funeral home was shot at 4316 Marguerite Street in Vancouver.
A couple scenes were shot on this block, mostly in front of the house at 1107 Edinburgh Street in New Westminster.
The mailbox scenes were shot on the 8300 block of 15th Avenue in Burnaby.
Just down the street from the funeral home location is Madison’s house located at 4409 Marguerite Street in Vancouver.
UPDATE: Above are the locations I found on my own. Thanks to a new special friend that I will keep anonymous, we have several more locations to share for the series! Again, since I am not located there, just streetview shots now for reference.
Ralph’s worksite is at Emerald Springs at 673 272nd Street in Aldergrove.
The S-mart store (horror fans will get it!) was shot at the Co-op Food Store at 3650 248th Street in Langley Township.
The scene where the mother lifts the car was shot at 8084 Laburnum Street.
They were tricky with this one. Tommy is delivery food to a house with 2603 on the exterior, but it was actually shot at 4917 College Highroad in Vancouver.
No streetview shots of the party house, but it is located at 6726 238th Street in Langley Township.
The bridge scene was shot on Galgardi Way over Eastlake Drive in Burnaby.
Carrie practices her TK at the Hub CA at 4349 190th Street in Surrey.
The teacher’s house is located at 5626 Alma Street in Vancouver.
The cafe was shot at Tracycakes Bakery at 21594 48th Avenue in Langley.
The hog farm was shot at In Season Farms at 27831 Huntington Road in Abbotsford.
And Billy and Chris meet their fate at 19506 3a Avenue in Surrey.
A few of the cast I have met over the years…
