As a huge fan of the Friday the 13th franchise, I was looking forward to the new Crystal Lake series. I was especially excited that they were not only going back to the roots of the original film, but going to some original filming locations as well.
As it was just released, below is a partial list of locations so far:
The majority of camp scenes were shot at Camp Ocawasin at 625 Macopin Road in West Milford, New Jersey. They also apparently shot at Camp Tamarack, Camp Winnebago, Lewis Morris Park, and Branch Book Park.
I was impressed how well they recreated shots from the original film in Blairstown, New Jersey. The cafe exterior was shot at the Blairstown Museum at 26 Main Street.
The founders day celebration was shot at 103 Skyline Lakes Drive in Ringwood, New Jersey.
The gas station was located at 425 Rockaway Valley Road in Boonton Township, New Jersey.
The bowling alley exterior was shot at 125 Cornelia Street in Boonton, New Jersey.
The police department was shot at 258 Hawthorne Avenue in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
The newspaper interiors were shot at 744 Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey. Outside you can see the Academy Building at 17 Academy Street.
I knew immediately this had to be Vancouver based by the architecture and was proved right. This is the first of many uses of purchased stock footage. In reality this is located at 2404 Guelph Street.
The school was shot at 55 South Avenue in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.
The Bronco Beef Pit is located at 417 River Road in Clifton, New Jersey.
Although some sites claim the cafe interior was shot at a studio, I’m thinking it was shot at 314 Main Street in Bontoon, New Jersey, based on behind the scenes pictures and the buildings seen outside the window.
More stock footage, this time in downtown Los Angeles as you can see the Southern Hotel on 5th Street in the background.
Another use of purchased stock footage, this bar is actually located at 44 Bedford Street in New York.
Just had to pause here to say how much I loved their recreation of these scenes from the opening of the original film…
This phone scene was shot at the Essex County Historic Courthouse at 470 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Newark, New Jersey.
Always helpful when they walk by signs showing the name of the location. This is the amusement park at 239 Beachway Avenue in Keansburg, New Jersey.
How many of you spotted “Ned” from the original film!?
Back to stock footage, this is an old shot of a theatre at 300 East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach.
The entrance to the gala was shot at 1 Geoffrey Way in Wayne, New Jersey.
The gala exterior was shot at 1600 Valley Road in Wayne, New Jersey.
