Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988)

Today marks the anniversary of Return of the Living Dead Part II, released January 15, 1988.

After the success of the original Return of the Living Dead, a sequel was not too far behind. Different characters and timeline, but using some of the same actors, they weren’t quite able to achieve the creativity of the first one. Like the original, this was mostly shot in the Los Angeles area. Below are a few of the locations, but my neighborhood house pictures were not right so will have to return to them some time.

A lot of the film was shot in Sierra Madre. These opening credits are locate at Kersting Court in Sierra Madre, most notable for its appearance in Halloween II and Halloween III.

This bridge has been used in many films and is located in Piru, California.

The police station was at 55 West Sierra Madre Boulevard, nearly right across from the bar in Halloween III.

Grandpa’s house is at 169 North Baldwin Avenue in Sierra Madre.

The pet shop was at 41 North Baldwin Avenue.

The mechanic shop is at 54 North Baldwin Avenue in Sierra Madre.

The meat packing warehouse was at 97 East Montecito Avenue in Sierra Madre.

These scenes were shot in the alley of Montecito Court right behind Kersting Court. Around the bend is Alice’s house from Halloween II.

Near the bend of the alley on Montecito Court.

The church is at 25 East Laurel Avenue in Sierra Madre and is best known from it’s appearance in John Carpenter’s The Fog.
