Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation premiered on April 9, 2009. Somewhat of an unofficial spinoff of the Office, the series had a short first season before running a pretty strong seven seasons. I have been to a few of the locations over the years, but finally thought today was the day to give it a proper page! On a personal note, I was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska - so happy to see “Pawnee” represented on the small screen!

The exterior of city was the real Pasadena City Hall at 100 North Garfield Avenue in Pasadena, California. This is an often-used location for many productions.

Anne’s house is at 5655 Murietta Avenue in Van Nuys, California. There was an empty field/pit behind the house for many years until they built apartments over it in 2015.

I immediately recognized this hotel as I often stayed there. It was then the Holiday Inn in Burbank, at 150 East Angeleno Avenue. It is now known as Hotel Burbank and of course, interiors have changed a bit since these photos were taken. The exterior of the hotel was briefly seen in The Nice Guys.

The restaurant as it looked back then. It was then renovated and appeared in Impeachment: American Crime Story (rotate!). It has since been renovated beyond recognition.

The sales office at the time, even using some of the same equipment as props! It has also been renovated beyond recognition.

A few of the cast members I have met over the years….
