Saving Mr. Banks (2013)

I never quite got into the original Mary Poppins film, but fell in love with the musical version after seeing a few times on Broadway. The "real story" here ends up being a "reel story" with more embellishments than facts unfortunately. Knowing that a lot of stuff was made up and reworked for dramatic purposes takes away from the film quite a bit. But let's get to some locations, shall we?

The bookends of the film are shot at the Los Angeles County Arboretum at 301 North Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia, California.

This home is located at the Heritage Square Museum at 3800 Homer Street in Los Angeles.

A few scenes were shot at Universal Studios.

LAX was played by the old Ontario Airport.

This car wash is located at 3700 West Riverside Drive in Burbank, California.

The hotel scenes were shot at the Langham Huntington at 1401 South Oak Knoll Avenue in Pasadena, California.

A couple scenes were shot at Disneyland, here is a pic I took in 1985.

A lot of scenes were shot at the actual Disney Studios in Burbank, California.

They have so many great artifacts to see!

Also during my LA visit is the Chinese Theatre.
