Out To Sea

Out To Sea (1997)

“You’re not getting a nickel out of me.”

I don’t know how many times we sat through this trailer in 1997, but enough that line was burned into my memory! I didn’t see the movie until years later, but I have a weird nostalgia for it now. Most of the ship scenes were shot on the S.S. Westerdam, but several scenes were shot in the LA area.

The movie opens at the Santa Anita Park, located at 285 West Huntington Drive in Arcadia, California.

It’s a great place to visit and they have some free admission days.

Amazingly, some of it looks the same three decades later…

Jack Lemmon’s house is located at 128 S Van Ness Avenue in Los Angeles.

They shot a few scenes on the Queen Mary….

The ornate Observation Bar on the Queen Mary…

One section of the movie was shot at the Veluzat Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita. I can’t believe the bus is still there and looks about the same!

Many films have been shot at the ranch. During my visit, I was primarily there to visit the barn from Friday the 13th Part 3.
