You Don't Mess With The Zohan (2008)

While Adam Sandler can be hit or miss, he typically hits it better with dramatic roles than comedic ones. Although nothing will ever hit the heights of Happy Gilmore, I do have a soft spot for You Don’t Mess With The Zohan. Shot in many places including Mexico and New York, most of the major scenes were shot in California.

One of the first California shots is at the Battery Barlow-Saxton/Angels Gate Bunkers, located in San Pedro. This spot has been used in many films and television productions. (I know my picture is taken from the opposite side of the shot, but you get the idea.) Fort MacArthur has been seen in Private Benjamin, Madonna’s Like A Prayer.

Most of the New York scenes were shot on Hennesy Street at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.

The salon location has been used hundreds of times, but is best known as the pet store in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.

Around the horseshoe of the street is this spot. This street is best known for it’s appearance as Chinatown in Gremlins.

This spot was the front of the orphanage in Annie (1982).

Quick detour to the Palace Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles.

Back to Warner Bros for the film’s finale…

Guy Oseary is best known as Madonna’s manager, but is also a movie producer and sometimes actor, appearing in a few scenes in this film.
