Annie (1982)

The movie version of Annie hit the screens on June 18, 1982. While many of the locations were shot in New York and New Jersey, the orphanage scenes were shot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.

(This page is under construction and I need to add a lot more, but wanted to get some photos up quickly for the anniversary!)

What is now known as Hennesy Street on the Warner Bros. backlot is the Hudson Street Home For Girls. It has changed a lot in the years as evidenced in just a couple of changes in the two photos below.

On the other side of Hennesy Street are the fire escapes. This spot was also used for the upside-down kiss in Spiderman.

Back to Hennesy Street. The corner on the left is best known as the pet shop in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.

Back to the fire escape, which is best known for it’s appearance….

…as the location for the cover of Purple Rain.

This street was split in half to make it a narrow alley in Minority Report.

A placard on the street in honor of Dale Hennesy:
