Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022)

I was in my senior year of college when the Dahmer story broke. The horror and intrigue of serial killers was at a peak coming off success of The Silence of the Lambs, so we were all transfixed by each new revelation. I was pretty skeptical going into the new miniseries, but was pleasantly surprised on how they treated the dark matter and focus on the how racism and homophobia allowed this to happen much longer than it ever should have gone on.

Although it is supposed to mostly take place in Milwaukee, it is of course shot in Los Angeles and I was able to visit several locations last weekend.

The apartment was shot at 2268 West 14th Street in Los Angeles.

His last potential victim runs down that same street from around 2229 to 2249 West 14th.

This scene was shot in the alley behind the building.

Grandma’s house was a bit more difficult to track down, even though I had the house number for neighbor, but using a unique looking church steeple in the background, I located it at 246 North Hillcrest Boulevard in Inglewood, California.

While I was in LA, a friend gave me a heads up that they shot the bus stop scene next to the church around the corner. The Holy Faith Episcopal Church is located at 260 North Locust Street in Inglewood. They were kind enough to let me take pictures inside and out.

The bar was shot at 1317 Willow Street in Los Angeles.

This scene was shot the next street over at 1313 Palmetto Street.

The police department exteriors were shot at 400 Civic Center Plaza in Pomona, California.

The divorce proceeding scenes were shot right next door at 505 S Garey Avenue at Pomona City Hall. Unfortunately they were closed during my visit, so not matching screenshots.

Antonio’s Pizzeria was used for one scene and was also recently seen in Physical. It is located at 13619 Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, California.

Jeffrey follows a boy home to his house at 265 East Pasadena Street in Pomona, California. This same street is used for the bus scene.

This liquor store was shot at the Junior Market located at 3061 North Lincoln Avenue in Altadena. This has been used in many productions, including Gacy.

The other liquor store was shot at 701 North Gibbs Street in Pomona.

Jeffrey’s apartment is at 20 Granada Avenue in Long Beach, California.

The beach scenes were shot right there as well.

The records store was filmed at 447 West 6th Street in San Pedro, California — closed on the day I visited, of course!

The clothing store, also closed that day, was shot at 371 West 6th Street in San Pedro.

Tony’s house was filmed at 2214 West 20th Street in Los Angeles. This is just across the street from houses used in Neighbors.

This house is located at 675 North Huntington Boulevard in Pomona.

This church is located at 209 North Louise Street in Glendale, California.

Across the street were these apartments located at 202 East Wilson Avenue in Glendale.

Glenda’s church is located at 14115 Magnolia Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, California. This was also used in Stepfather 2.

Ken Lerner portrayed Joe Silber.

The awesome Gregg Araki directed a few episodes.
