Deadly Friend (1986)

Today marks the anniversary for Deadly Friend. Hot off the success for A Nightmare On Elm Street, Craven’s original vision was compromised by additional reshoots prompted by poor test screenings. Unfortunately, the result was an uneven and ineffective film, but nonetheless, here are a few of the film’s locations.

Most of the residential scenes were shot on the Warner Bros. backlot. Here is Paul’s house.

Right next door is Samantha’s house, better known as Ross and Rachel’s house in Friends.

Across the street is Elvira’s house, better known for the house used in Growing Pains and Gremlins.

The campus scenes were shot at USC, here they are walking by the Center of International and Public Affairs building.

The town scenes were shot in Monrovia. This parking lot is off East Palm Avenue between South Myrtle and South Ivy Avenues.

Some construction was going on in the alley by the parking lot during my visit.

She runs across South Myrtle Avenue to Library Park in Monrovia.
