Foul Play (1978)

Aaaaand Iā€™m ready to take a chance again; that song always gets stuck in my head and is so perfect for this movie. Foul Play was one of my favorites as a kid. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase were at their prime and Colin Higgins (Nine To Five) wrote and directed a fun script. Today marks the anniversary for the film, originally released on July 14, 1978.

Goldie drives into the city and turns at the corner of Pine and Montgomery Streets in San Francisco, California.

A quick detour to Los Angeles for the Nuart Theatre located at 11272 Santa Monica Boulevard.

Gloriaā€™s house is at 430 Vallejo Street in San Francisco. There was lots of renovations going on at the time, so I couldnā€™t get very good shots.

The library has since been demolished and rebuilt as a school, located at 2245 Jones Street in San Francisco.

The building next to it and across the street have remained the same.

Gloria runs into the alley on Fresno Street next to Kearny Street.

Later, they walk up Kearny Street on the Peter Macchiarini Steps up to Vallejo Street.

Gloria drives to the massage parlor at 199 Mississippi Street in San Francisco.

For some reason 199 is now 197 on this door.

Next we go to the opera, which in reality is San Francisco City Hall, located at 1 Dr Carlton B Goodlett Place. These steps are best known for their appearance at t he end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

City Hall was also used in other films like A View To A Kill, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Zodiac.
