Cobra Kai (2018)

I’ll admit I was a little leery when I heard about this follow up to The Karate Kid, but it is a great series. Although season three will not air until 2021, the first two seasons will begin airing on Netflix tomorrow, so I thought I would share some locations from the first season. A lot of the series was shot in Atlanta and you can see those locations at Reel To Real Movie & TV Filming Locations. Below are some of the ones I visited in the Los Angeles area.

Johnny’s apartment is located at 18555 Burbank Boulevard in Tarzana, California.

Just down the street is the location for the opening title at the corner of Burbank and Ventura Boulevards.

Encino Commons mall is best known for its appearance in Poltergeist II.

This was shot at the corner of Louise Avenue and Ventura Boulevard.

This was shot at the Autry Overlook located at 8601 Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles.

Back to Ventura Boulevard!

Johnny walks by the restaurant at 17132 Ventura Boulevard.

Daniels billboard is atop the building at 17071 Ventura Boulevard.

This is shot in front of 17230 Ventura Boulevard.

The workout scenes were shot at San Vicente Mountain Park located at 17500 Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles.

And of course a return to the South Seas Apartments.

I’ve been lucky to meet some of the cast over the years….

Season 2 just had a handful of locations in California. Here we are at the corner by 595 West Radcliff Avenue in the Pacific Palisades, California.

The put in a fake stop sign in front of the house at 365 N Mt Holyoke Avenue in Pacific Palisades.
