The Haunted (1991)

In honor of Sally Kirkland, who passed away recently, I decided to finally publish my pictures from The Haunted. This was a television movie released in 1991 focusing on the supposedly true story of the Smurl family. (This was also loosely retold in the newer film The Conjuring: Last Rites.)

These pictures were taken over a decade ago, so some places may have changed since my visit.

The pre-credit sequence begins on this house at 854 North Wilson Avenue in Pasadena, She then passes the house at 846 then to the corner at Evelyn Place.

On the way to their new house, they drive by this school at 1065 E Washington Boulevard in Pasadena.

I’ll save the main house for last, but a few more locations first…

This was shot at Haines Hall at UCLA.

Of course, this is the often-used Royce Hall, best known for it’s appearance in Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.

This church is at 435 South Occidental Boulevard in Los Angeles. This has been also used in many productions including Six Feet Under, Dexter, and Repossessed.

This church is at 175 North Lake Avenue in Pasadena. Also used in many productions including Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and War of the Worlds.

Their final house was shot at 1075 E Topeka Street. This home best known for its appearance in The Wedding Singer.

The main house was shot at 915 North Michigan Avenue in Pasadena.

Diane Baker as Lorraine Warren.
